La controverse sur l’iode et la thyroïde


Episode 1 : iode, plage, crustacés…et thyroïde !

L’excès d’iode n’est pas bon du tout pour vous !

L’iode est un sujet controversé en ce qui concerne la santé de la thyroïde. Alors que j’ai discuté des dangers de fortes doses d’iode pour Hashimoto avec certaines clientes et sur le groupe privé FB, le sujet des « régimes à l’iode » mis à en avant sur internet revient très souvent.

En effet, j’ai bien conscience que certains médecins que je vous recommande d’aller voir pour obtenir de précieuses ordonnances difficiles à avoir par ailleurs… sont aussi de fervents avocats du mojito au sirop d’algues…

Je voulais aborder le sujet dans une série d’articles et de podcasts cet été afin de m’assurer que la conversation ne se transforme pas en un débat sur un seul nutriment, car Hashimoto est un multi -facteur. C’est un dérèglement global de l’organisme. Alors que certains défenseurs de la thyroïde proposeront que la prise de fortes doses d’iode soit utile pour tout le monde. Avec Hashimoto, malheureusement, je n’ai pas trouvé que c’était le cas dans la littérature scientifique. C’est même plutôt l’inverse.

Les personnes qui font l’histoire ne sont pas toujours celles qui sont les plus médiatisées de leur vivant. Au cours de mes recherches sur Hashimoto, j’ai découvert que ce que pensais utile de créer existait déjà dans les grandes lignes. Ce travail avait été réalisé par Izabella Wentz aux Etats-Unis.
